TOP TEN REASONS TO STAY AT THE BURGUNDY INN

10.
Private deck area behind the main building is a nice place to have a snack and relax with friends.

9.
Outdoor shower by the pool to rinse that really fine sand out from between your toes.

8.
North Building - private patios and balconies are great!

7.
Big bedrooms with full-size closets in the 1-Bedroom units have enough room to pile everyone's "stuff" in the bedroom and keep the living room clear.

6.
There's a microwave and refrigerator in every room.... and a kitchenette or full kitchen in most!

5.
Burgundy Inn staff!  We're friendly, helpful, and sometimes even funny.  (BTW, I'm Nancy, and since I'm writing this entry so I get to mention myself by name.)

4.
Price!
We're one of the best values in Ocean City.  And we'll give you free stuff.... like business cards, brochures, smiles, advice, etc.

3.
Free parking!
Even if you get here before check-in time, we can usually let you have your parking pass so you can enjoy the beach while you'r waiting for your room.

2.
Our rooms and beds are clean!  And when you get here the beds will be made with matress pads, sheets, pillows, and blanket/spread.  (Who has room in the car for all of those bed linens?)

1.
Location!  Get a "Boardwalk Experience" without paying the Boardwalk price.

1.
(I know I have two #1's here)
How could I have forgotten about our beautiful, well-maintained pool!  (What can I say...it's winter time and I'm wearing a sweater and long johns!)

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THE HOLIDAYS IN OC!!!

What's not to love about the holiday season in Ocean City?  It's a different kind of Winter Wonderland!   Here are a few of my favorite things about Christmastime in OC.

  • Three words: Winterfest of Lights!  Where else but OC will you find Santa in a boat catching a marlin next to a happy octopus--all done with lights?
  • I always go to the Holiday Shoppers Fair at the Convention Center (11/27-29).  It helps get me in the mood!
  • All month long there are Victorian Christmas activities in nearby Berlin.
  • Ocean City's Christmas Parade is on 12/5.  Fun!

  • Ice skating at The Carousel during the Christmas season is especially "cool" because it's indoors and the decorations are so pretty.  (You'd rather stay here though, and visit there! Save your $ for shopping!)
  • Afternoon tea at the Dunes Manor is cozy and relaxing after a morning of shopping.  (Again, stay here, visit there!)
  • This year my grandkids are getting kites and marshmallow shooters from the Kite Loft--my favorite fun OC store year-round!
  • It's getting cold outside, but it's not bone-chilling.  A walk on the Boardwalk is still pleasant and relaxing.  I dress my dog in his Santa suit and he strolls with me.

If you've never thought of Ocean City as a holiday season getaway destination... maybe it's time to think again!  I've put some links to these events on this blog.  We're open year-round, and our low rates are even better this time of year!   So give us a call and c'mon down to OC and The Burgundy Inn for the Holidays!

See you soon!

Nancy

Water, Water Everywhere!

Every now and then OC does get a bit of weather that we aren't too thrilled about.  That's what happened this week with heavy rain, wind, wave action, and flooding related to Hurricane Ida.

The Burgundy Inn (and its staff) weathered the storm without too much difficulty, but for a while OC had more waterfront property than usual!

There's been some pretty heavy beach erosion, but the established dunes and concrete retaining wall along the Boardwalk helped minimize the damage.  We love the ocean, but she's both beautiful and powerful.  Sometimes she's fickle and turns on those who love her for a short time!

Our November Nor'easter has passed, clean-up has already begun,  it's warm enough that all we need is a light sweater, and tomorrow is going to be a beautiful sunny day.  Many locals and visitors will be out on the Boardwalk checking out the changed scenery, assessing the damage, and just appreciating the majesty and beauty of where we live!

Wish you were here with us!
